WordCamp Bern will take place at Bern’s UniS building, on the university campus near the heart of Switzerland’s eight-hundred-year-old federal city.
The university is located within a couple of minutes’ walking distance from the main station’s “Welle” exit, close to the city centre and the Länggasse student district.

How to get to the conference
Travelling to Bern is easy. Although we recommend that you come by public transport, the city is also right in the middle of the Swiss motorway network between Zurich, Basel, Geneva and Interlaken.
Bern is located on main transportation routes between Geneva, Lausanne, Basel, Lucerne and Zurich. It’s easy to get here by train, plane or road. We recommend that you take advantage of Switzerland’s fantastic, highly punctual public transport services.
The Swiss railway network is legendarily punctual and well-organized. We recommend that you arrive in Bern by train if you can. Bern is two hours from Geneva and one hour from Zurich or Basel.
Switzerland’s main airports are at Basel (1h20), Zurich Kloten (1h15), Geneva (2h) and Bern Belp (30-40 min.). These approximate travelling times are for public transport connections from the main airport terminal to Bern’s main railway station.
From Bern’s main station, on foot
Exit the station by the “Welle” exit – ascend the escalators/lift to the walkway above the railway tracks, beneath the large, curved wooden roof. The UniS building is on Schanzeneckstrasse, to the left of the main road up the hill. The entrance is no more than two minutes away from the station exit (by pedestrian access).
Follow the signs to Bern city centre and main train station. The main parking garages are signposted from most motorway exits, with the number of free spaces kept up-to-date. The closest parking garages are at Bahnhofparking (the main train station) and City West. Be aware that the daily car parking charges are high: for example, a fourteen-hour stay at Bahnhofparking will cost nearly Fr. 40.
